East Wenatchee Municipal Code, Title 5, Chapter 5.04 requires any person, persons, company corporation or association to do, transact, exercise, engage in or carry on, either directly or indirectly, within the city limits, any trade, business, occupation or activity shall obtain an annual business license.
APPLYING FOR A BUSINESS LICENSE
You may apply for a city business license at the Office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 271 9th Street NE, during regular business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except holidays) You may also print the business license application from the City's web page. You will need to provide your State Unified Business Identifier (UBI) Number on your City of East Wenatchee Business License Application. To obtain a Master Business License contact the local Department of Revenue office at 509-663-9714 or http://www.dol.wa.gov/business/file.html
Applications are subject to review by the Planning, Building/Code Enforcement, Street Department, City Clerk, Police and Fire officials. The application process takes approximately two weeks after receipt of a complete application, unless there are issues requiring the need for other land use permits.
BUSINESS CLOSURE, CHANGE OF ADDRESS, CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP
City business licenses are nontransferable and are issued to a specific location. If your business closes, changes location or ownership, a new business license application must be submitted (no additional fee is required for an address change).
You must report mailing address changes, ownership changes, or closure of business to the City of East Wenatchee City Clerk's Office.
FEES AND RENEWAL INFORMATION
The City of East Wenatchee's business license fee is based on the total number of employees' including owners and managers, working within the city limits. Fee must accompany the completed business license application - NON REFUNDABLE.
The annual year for the business license is July 1 through June 30. The City of East Wenatchee does not assess a business and occupation tax. The annual fees are as follows:

Failure to renew your business license by June 30th will be grounds for denial of the application and/or imposition of penalties. A renewal form will be sent to you annually as a reminder. For any business commencing operation on January 1st of each year and before June 30th of each year, the rate shall be one-half the annual rate.
Each Business License shall at all times be conspicuously posted in the place of business for which it is issued.
